Hi, I'm Andy Willmott, founder of Mad Threads.
I've been in and around the party and events industry for over 30 years — starting as a glassie in a suburban nightclub, then bartending, running lighting, DJing, and within a few years, promoting Sydney's most iconic and long running Sunday events with my best mates, Sounds On Sunday & After Ours. Along the way I've worked with some of the biggest event producers in the country. I still love throwing shapes on the dancefloor and I still put on regular dance music events.
You could say it's in my blood.
I'm always chasing a new passion project, and I'd been thinking about working on a T-shirt label, but I didn't want to start just another streetwear brand.
Like most of my ideas, this one hit me in the middle of the night: a T-shirt and apparel label made for music lovers, dancefloor junkies and celebrators of life.
Being one myself, that was something I could get passionate about.
So here we are.
